Sustainable Food Systems: Urban and Global Perspectives. A Dialogue between 4EU + Universities and cities.

The conference is a side event of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Global Forum, organised by the City of Milan from October 13 to 17 and involving over 300 signatory cities.

This event, organised in the frame of the 4EU+ Alliance’s 1CORE project, presents a valuable opportunity for students, researchers, professors, and city representatives to engage in dialogue about the future of urban food policies. It will focus on developing more sustainable, fair, and inclusive models, as well as the skills required to train new professionals working across disciplines in sustainability and food policy.

It is a joint initiative between the 4EU+ European University Alliance, of which the University of Milan is a founding member, and the City of Milan. The 4EU+ European University Alliance consists of eight public universities across Europe: Charles University (Prague), Heidelberg University, Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Sorbonne University (Paris), the University of Copenhagen, the University of Geneva, the University of Milan, and the University of Warsaw.

In this context, the 4EU+ Alliance has also launched a scientific-educational program titled “Feeding the Planet – Shaping a Sustainable Future.” This program targets students and researchers interested in food sustainability and involves representatives from the Alliance's partner municipalities, as well as the broader 4EU+ community.
