This session is designed to spark a dynamic exchange of experiences between Brazilian and European cities committed to advancing urban food policies.  

Inspired by successful experiences from cities across diverse cultural and socioeconomic landscapes, the discussion will spotlight ongoing initiatives while opening the door to new partnerships and future collaborations.  

The Brazilian experience will be presented to showcase multilevel and multi-actor governance for urban food systems through the Food Cities Strategy (Alimenta Cidades) and on the outcomes of the Cities and Food project (EU-Brazil Dialogues), highlighting the potential of international cooperation between Brazil and European MUFPP cities.

Key topics of the session: 

  • Strengthening short food supply chains through territorial markets; 
  • Innovative social retail practices; 
  • Agroecological approaches to enhance urban agriculture and school meals;
