The Closing Ceremony of the MUFPP Global Forum 2025 will mark the conclusion of three days of dialogue, exchange, and collective visioning, while opening new horizons for collaboration.
Building on the outcomes of the Forum, the session will highlight the central role of MUFPP’s strategic partners in supporting urban food system transformation.
Partners will present a wide range of announcements, including new commitments, pledges, and cooperation mechanisms designed to strengthen multilevel governance.
The ceremony will serve as a platform for unveiling future opportunities available to cities, from training and capacity-building programs to thematic alliances and financing initiatives.
By connecting cities with global institutions, networks, and civil society actors, the Closing Ceremony will strengthen MUFPP’s role as inspiration toward more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient urban food systems.
Programme
The ceremony will open with welcome remarks from Anna Scavuzzo, Vicemayor of Milan, and Giovanni Azzone, President of Cariplo Foundation, reaffirming the importance of multi-level collaboration between institutions, foundations, and local governments.
A special message to celebrate World Food Day and underline the role of cities as key actors in transforming agri-food systems.
The session will deep dive the new EAT-Lancet Commission 2.0 report for MUFPP cities, presented by Fabrice De Clerck, EAT Chief Science Officer, offering new scientific insights and policy directions for local governments.
A partners’ roundtable will follow, gathering representatives of leading international organizations, research institutions, and civil society networks. The discussion will explore collective strategies to accelerate the transition toward sustainable and equitable food systems through knowledge exchange, local innovation, and global partnerships.
The Global Forum will conclude with closing remarks by Vice Mayor Anna Scavuzzo, including the approval of the MUFPP Global Forum Final Declaration, marking the renewed commitment of cities and partners to the next decade of the Pact.
